February 13, 2012 – Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

ICMI has scheduled a training workshop on implementing and auditing of the International Cyanide Management Code (Code) in Vancouver, Canada.

This one-day workshop will focus on the practical issues associated with implementing and auditing the Code. ICMI Vice President Norm Greenwald will discuss the intent of each of the Code's Principles and Standards of Practice, along with the Code's expectations for performance and the measures typically necessary to achieve that performance. Interpretive guidance will be provided on how auditors are to use their professional judgment in determining whether an operation is in compliance with the Code. Other topics will include the certification process, auditor requirements and re-certification audits.

February 15-16, 2012 – Elko, Nevada, USA

ICMI has scheduled a training workshop on implementing and auditing of the International Cyanide Management Code (Code), and on the lessons learned from its implementation and auditing, in Elko, Nevada.

This two-day workshop will focus on the practical issues associated with implementing and auditing the Code and the experiences of operations that have implemented it and been certified in compliance. On the first day, ICMI Vice President Norm Greenwald will discuss the intent of each of the Code's Principles and Standards of Practice, along with the Code's expectations for performance and the measures typically necessary to achieve that performance. Interpretive guidance will be provided on how auditors are to use their professional judgment in determining whether an operation is in compliance with the Code. Other topics will include re-certification audits and cyanide transport. The second day will feature speakers from a number of certified gold mines and other facilities, as well as Code auditors, sharing their experiences with Code implementation and auditing.
