Auditing the Code

Certification Audits & Auditors

Cyanide Code certification audits must be conducted by independent third-party auditors.  These auditors must meet ICMI requirements for experience, expertise and lack of conflicts of interest to be qualified to audit operations for compliance under the Cyanide Code. ICMI’s Auditor Criteria document explains the exact qualifications necessary for leading Cyanide Code certification audits, and for participating in certification audits as a technical expert auditor. ICMI will not accept a certification audit report unless the auditor(s) meets the requirements presented in its Auditor Criteria.

Individuals seeking approval as Cyanide Code auditors should carefully examine the requirements described in ICMI’s Auditor Criteria document to ensure that they meet all requirements before submitting information to ICMI demonstrating that they have the required qualifications.  Individuals who believe that they meet all requirements should submit documents supporting their qualifications to [email protected].
